The content of the IATE Web Site, Software and Database is subject to a disclaimer, a copyright notice and rules related to personal data protection.
This Legal Notice, Disclaimer and Terms (hereinafter “these Terms") explains the contractual agreement between you and the European Community regarding your use of the IATE Web Site and Database. The European Community has provided the IATE Web Site and database as a public service for use by the general public. By agreeing to these Terms, you acknowledge that you would like and are authorized to enter into this legal relationship with the European Community.
Accepting these Terms

Update to these Terms and to the Database
(a) The European Community may amend these Terms at any time by posting amended Terms on the IATE Website. The amended Terms shall be effective on the date such amendments are posted. The European Community may also add, delete or modify some or all of its services, including without limitation, services related to offering terminology searches at any time.
(b) The European Community reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the IATE Web Site and/or Database (or any part thereof) with or without notice. You agree that the European Community shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuation of the IATE Web Site and/or Database.
Disclaimer
The IATE Web Site and Database were designed and all IATE database content was produced and/or compiled in a specific multilingual arrangement by the institutions participating in IATE, for the purpose of providing a tool which facilitates the multilingual drafting of EU texts on any relevant matter. This tool is developed and maintained by the internal translation services for which it was designed and is therefore not to be considered as a guaranteed public service from the European Community. Access is offered to the public “as such”. The information contained in IATE is not intended to address the specific circumstances of any particular individual or entity. It is not necessarily comprehensive, complete, accurate or up to date.
Opinions, statements or views expressed in the Database do not necessarily reflect the official policy of the European Union.
The European Community shall not be liable for any damages (direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary), even if it has been advised of the possibility of such damages. This includes but is not limited to damages (for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses) resulting from the use or the inability to use the Database, its contents or any other matter relating to the service.
No guarantee is given that references by hyperlinks to other websites will remain available on the internet. As the European Community has no control over such sites and resources, you acknowledge and agree that the European Community is not responsible for the availability of such external sites or resources. For the same reason, the European Community does not endorse and is not responsible or liable for any content, advertising, products, or other materials on or available from such sites or resources. You further acknowledge and agree that the European Community shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on or through any such site or resource.
Whilst every effort is made to minimise disruption caused by technical errors, the European Community does not guarantee that access to the IATE Web Site and Database will not be interrupted, error free or otherwise affected by such problems. The European Community does not accept responsibility with regard to such problems incurred as a result of using this site or any linked external sites.

Copyright on the works quoted in the Database belongs to the right holders as defined by law. No entry from the IATE Database may be copied, modified, published or broadcast or otherwise distributed without explicit permission.
Reproduction and/or use of all or any part of the IATE Database content is prohibited. You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell or exploit for any commercial purposes, any IATE Database content.
In cases where external sources have been used every best effort has been made, where appropriate, to trace other copyright holders. The European Community will be happy to correct mistakes or omissions where required.
The IATE Software (including the underlying data structure and all user interfaces) is owned by the European Community.
You acknowledge and agree that the IATE Database Software contains proprietary and confidential information that is protected by applicable intellectual property and other laws.
You agree not to modify, rent, lease, loan, sell, distribute the Software or to permit anyone to access or use and/or create derivative works based on this Software, in whole or in part.
You agree not to access the IATE Web Site and/or Database by any means other than through the interface that is provided by IATE for use in accessing the IATE Web Sites.
